SNAKE RIVER REGION

SPORTS CAR CLUB OF AMERICA

Auto Cross Racing

September 11th and 12th

Snake River Region SCCA and the city of Mountain Home Salute our military men and women of the 366th Fighter Wing and Col Ron Buckley at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

The sites and sounds of performance cars will be filling the air September 11th and 12th at the Mountain Home Municipal Airport. Two days of racing on two different courses. Both days will have a different course designed to test the limits of car and driver skill.

Some of Idaho’s best Auto Cross Drivers will be showcasing their precision driving skills.

Most of our Class Points Leaders will be looking to hold onto their points lead. There are several tight battles going on for each Class Championship and the coveted year-end 1st place trophy.

Tech and Registration begins at 0800 to 0900 followed by the Drivers meeting at 0930. Cars will start racing at 1000 until late afternoon.

Spectators are always welcome and FREE.

There are a few Drivers that will be offering our Military Men and Women FREE rides… in this small way these Drivers just want to show their support, appreciation and to say a sincere Thank-You.

This promises to be exciting and fun for all ages.

You don’t want to miss this SRRSCCA Tribute to our Military.

I am writing this to end the conjecture and rumors about the future of the site and our use of it.

There was a simple break down in communications with the upper management and the people that worked with them. Simple as that. The use of the lot for AutoX was never really in “jeopardy.” Once they were told that the members that were putting on the event and over seeing the event that day had already formed a plan of attack on how to return the lot to its normal “look” the conversation was basically over.

We will be cleaning up the smaller area of concern..not just because it was asked by the expo. More so it is what a tenant does to keep a strong working relationship with a event site. It was never the “plan” to just leave it that way. It was always the plan to clean it up.

Anyone with further questions or comments please feel free to call me personally and I will address them at that time.

            • Every possible will be contacted and attempts to find the deciding person/s will be made.
            • Site acquisition packets from the SCCA will be ordered. This info and info about our club will be formed into a “pitch packet”
            • Once the NSAC has made solid contacts a meeting will be set up.
            • The “pitch team” is a group of 3 high energy members with extensive backgrounds in Sales, Cold Calling, and proposing business plans to potential clients and upper management.
              • The Pitch team consists of Michelle Rementeria, Chris Pugh, and Chris Wold. This team will also help to form the pitch packet with the NSAC.
      • The List of possible sites will be updated with the outcome of the meeting. This information will be compiled and accessible to the general membership. The objections brought up by the site managers will be tracked and ideas and solutions will be put into place and more meetings will be set-up to attempt to gain access. This process will continue until the site management stops taking meetings to further the process. Those sites will be revisited annually just in an attempt to keep the contact list current, and build a relationship with the site.
      • The end goal here is to be able to do 21 events at 21 different sites in the area. Further then that the idea is to have running information that is tracked and worked on by a group of people with the end result being more event sites. No longer will someone saying “no” to our access be accepted as binding till the end of time. We are a part of a group (SCCA) that runs 6000+ event nationally per year. There is absolutely no reason that we cannot gain access to all of the possible sites.
      • If anyone is interested in participating in the NSAC please contact Darius Rementeria.
      • Motion to end meeting. 2nd. passed

August 7th Rally Cross at Pleasant Valley Raceway

Posted on August 1st, 2010 by racercarl

Our Clubs next event is August 7th at Pleasant Valley Raceway, to get to the site go south on Pleasant Valley Road about 10.5 miles from Gowen road. A longer course will be used than before with an easier start and faster finish. the pit area will be next to the moto-x track by the concessions stands,

Pleasant Valley Raceway’s personel will water and grade the course before and during the day so we will have plenty of time to visit the concessions stand for food, drinks, and stuff. restrooms are also in the area where we will pit.

The club will not be providing fluids for rally cross events like we do at autox’s, When the events start being cash positive we will start doing so but at this point it is not possible. so bring plenty of water or visit the consessions stand, and bring sun screen.

Leo will have the real computer set up and show us how to do the timing correctly with it, so we should have results quicker and as we will have the trailer there we will have the display set up. We will also have the loaner helmets available for the first time so con your friends into coming out to participate also.

Cost is $30.00 for members and the $15.00 weekend membership for non members.

Registration is at 8:00 and drivers meeting around 9:30 to 10:00, runs will start shortly there after and go until we are all tired, out of gas, or the sun goes down :)

This is a very laid back type of event and we have always had fun runs after the timed runs, put plenty of fuel in your car, as the course is @1.2 miles long.

See you all there,
Carl

NocternoX IV

Posted on July 27th, 2010 by DJ

The last installment of the NocternoX events will be on Aug. 14 after the Drift School.

Some changes and announcements about the event.

The parking and grid will be on the South side of the event site.

This event will be know as the “two-way” event. Basically the course will be designed to run it both directions. So..the plan is as follows:

1st Session run the course west to east…each driver will get 5 runs.

Short break to alter the directional cones

2nd Session run the course east to west…each driver will get 5 runs.

A drivers best time for each session will count…those two times are added together and the sum is the total time for the event.

So…come out and have some fun trying out the two way event…

See you all there.

The coming 2011 Board of Directors elections.

Posted on July 19th, 2010 by DJ

I know that it is only July, but at the meeting on this coming Tuesday, nominations will be opened till the Sept. membership meeting. That give everyone 2 full months to nominate someone or nominate themselves into the election process for the 2011 BOD.

The positions will be the same….so if you think you can take the time, or know someone that can, to plan and execute 2 or 3 different schedules of events next year; then email any of the board members in the contact section your nominations. It isn’t required to nominate people to all of the positions, you can basically do as you please regarding it. The only real rule to it is that the person you are nominating has to be a current member of the SRRSCCA.

These nominations will be taken till Sept. Then a ballot will be formed and the elections will take place.

The positions are as follows.

Regional Executive

Asst. Regional Executive

Secratary

Treasurer

Editor

3 positions of Activity Directors

So…email one of us your nominations…and we will see you at the meetings.

Thanks.

I’m gonna have the big grill out feeding the Evo people so we might as well put it to good use, show up around 2- bring what you want and I’ll grill it up. I’ll have some stuff on hand, if you want something or are bringing something let me know!

Registration and Tech will open up right at 3, close at 4… drivers meeting will be at 4:35. Depending on Evo the course should be open for walking at 4… if not it will be open after the meeting… either way I want 1st car on course by 5.
