Snake River Region SCCA

Test and Tune May 8th

Posted on April 29th, 2010 by admin

The Street Survival School has been cancelled due to lack of students, but we still have the lot for the whole day so…

Starting at 9am and running until 2 or 3, you can bring your car out and play with the settings a bit. We will set up a couple elements for you to play with, and we will have the scales out for the SCCA members.

20 bucks for those bringing their cars out. 20 bucks for anyone else getting behind the wheel. This does not go towards entry fee into NocturnoX.

There will be some chillin, some grillin, $#!* will be talked and a bunch of lies will be told.

After the test session we will set up and run NocturnoX just as planned.

As usual, all event rules are in effect due to the fact this is an SCCA sanctioned event, no beer, drugs or stupidity will be allowed.

RALLYX #1 May 1 ***cancelled***

Posted on April 29th, 2010 by DJ

Due to 3″ or more of standing water on the entire area that was going to be the event site of the SRRSCCA’s first RallyX, the event has been canceled.

The site owner worked today on trying to clear the water and ended up getting a sizable machine stuck in the mud. With more rain coming and little sun, there is almost no chance that the event site will be up to holding and event.

We are very sorry that this has happened but we can’t control the weather.

Thank you

-D.J.

We have found a new SRRSCCA meeting location.

Posted on April 24th, 2010 by Robert Lundbohm

Hi All,

We have found a new SRRSCCA meeting location.

MUGGSYS

501 S Main ST.

Meridian, Idaho 83642

208-898-9470

If you take the Meridian exit head north and it’s on your left hand side just before Meridian Speedway.

Sorry I couldn’t get a menu posted. Kevin Schofield is the NEW owner and has just owned the place for about three weeks. At the time I talked to him he hadn’t gotten the printed menu back from the printers yet.

Kevin is going to have a waitress assigned just for us. I told him that wasn’t necessary but he insisted. Kevin is a Drag Racer and is excited to have us…

What is it they say? Birds of a feather…??? So we are getting a convenient location to meet and help support a new business owner that happens to be a Racer. Racers are Racers plain and simple…

Reminder; Membership meetings are every third Tuesday of the month.

Our next race is the NocternoX on May 8th. Since we have the Street Survival School going on the first part of the day we are going to be doing registration and Tech outside the gate. Remember to Register online and help speed up that aspect.

Make sure your headlights are adjusted and in good working order…

See you at the races,

Robert

Perfect Racing weather?

Posted on April 20th, 2010 by Robert Lundbohm

Perfect Racing weather?

If you were to look in the dictionary and look up “Perfect Racing Weather” it would probably read something like the conditions for April 18th 2010. It was a little brisk at 7:00am when DJ and the rest of us started laying out the course but warmed up nicely by the first car out. It never did get too hot but some of us did get a smidge of sunburn.

Registration to clean up went very smooth and because of that we all got 4 morning runs and 4 afternoon runs. Not too shabby for having over 90 entrants.

Speaking of how many entrants we had Sunday brings me to something DJ told me tonight. The SRRSCCA is the fastest growing region in the nation right now…Yeas, Woot and EEHAA.

NOCTERNOX #1

Posted on April 20th, 2010 by DJ

May 8th marks the night for the first of three Night AutoX’s.

It will be held at the Expo Center(fairgrounds).

On site registration and tech is a little different then normal.

Registration ,will be held starting at 3pm, outside of the actual event site. In the parking lot next to the event site.

Same with tech.

The event site will be being used for the Street Survival School up until 4ish. At that point a course will be built and we will start pulling in cars to the grid.

We need to have everything done ASAP, because we only have until Midnight to run. So the quicker we get all the pre-race stuff finished the more runs we have.

So polish up the headlights and come out for some night time fun….
