How to win your class is really 4 important things that need to be accomplished or in place.

1. Driver must be a member of the SCCA in good standing.

2. Number of events to qualify for a trophy

A. 1/2 of the pointed events plus one needed to be participated in to qualify for year end trophy.

a. Example: 20 pointed events. 20/2=10.  10+1= 11. 11 events to qualify for a trophy.

3. Participation Points.

A. Points are awarded for performing acts that the SRRSCCA has deemed as participating. This list is reviewed and altered if needed after the end of a season.

B. A total of 150 points by the end of the season is needed to qualify for a year end trophy.

C. The tracking of Participation Points is done by the Asst. RE.

D. The list of activities that earn Participation Points is as follows for 2010.

Driving in an event 5
Meeting attendance 20
Writing a newsletter article 50
Attend tech school 20
Trailer clean up day 20
Instruct novice school 20
Haul trailer to & from event 20
Attend National event (limit 2) 20
Travel 75+ miles to SRR event 20

Set up/break down of an event 20

D. Driving an event will be automatically accumulated by the Asst. RE. using the results from an event.

a. All other points to be considered are the drivers responsibility to bring to the attention of the Asst. RE. An email, Personal Message on the SRRSCCA Forum, Phone Call, etc… are some but not all of the ways to contact the Asst. R.E. of points that the driver is submitting to his/her total. A driver submitting points to be considered in person, should do so in writing.

b. Submitting for Participation Points should include, at least; the driver name, event # or event date, and a brief explanation of the actions that should be considered for Participation Points.

c. If there is a problem with point totals, or points submitted haven’t been added, use the same communications suggested in line (a) to alert the Asst. RE of the issue.

4. Class points. Each class will have its own race of point totals.Driver with the highest year end total is deemed the Class Champion.

A. Class points are based on a 100 point percentage system, unique for every event.

a. Example: First place is awarded 100 points

b. Places 2nd through the last place driver are determined as a percentage of the drivers best time in relation to the winning time for that class.

i. Example: Winning time 47.9; driver gets 100 points.  2nd place time 48.1 which is 99.43% of the winning time; 2nd place driver gets 99.43 points.\

B. Only a drivers best 60% of the total pointed events count toward the drivers class point total.

a. Example 20 pointed events. 60 * .6= 12. A drivers 12 best event scores count toward the class points. This means that a perfect season with 20 pointed events is 1200 points.
