2009 rulebook

http://cms.scca.com/documents/Rally%20Rules/2009rxr.pdf

"A RallyCross event is open to any fixed-roof production based vehicle (including
convertibles with a factory hardtop attached, targa-types with factory panel in place,
t-tops with factory panels in place) that can pass safety inspection. If the Event
Chairman after consultation with the Event Safety Steward determines at his discretion
that a vehicle cannot safely negotiate the course, it may be excluded."

Stock Rear Wheel Drive (SR)
Stock Front Wheel Drive (SF)
Stock All Wheel Drive (SA)

Prepared Rear Wheel Drive (PR)
Prepared Front Wheel Drive (PF)
Prepared All Wheel Drive (PA)

Modified Two Wheel Drive (M2)
Modified All Wheel Drive (M4)

most pump fuels can be used like diesel and E85, the Modified is basically the catch all. You would have to read the rulebook for further details, to save me the time of retyping.

I've been rallycrossing in Utah twice now with my matic impreza. My 1st one was in Honeyville and the 2nd one was just last weekend, March 27 at Miller Motorsports Park and it was a national challenge event. People from Colorado, Minnesota, Arizona and Idaho (only me ... hehehehe) were competing. I finished 10th in SA class but it was a blast doing it. I don't expect to win at all, just a joy to do rally crossing is the shiznit for me.

Idaho should do this thing. Let me know if we're doing it. I bought a car to do this, nothing fancy but I'm still working on it. This should be fun :)

PS: If you need a website to host the info specifically for Idaho Rally Cross stuff, I'll be happy to do it complimentary.

Thx, EnggaG

so, umm...

I hear tell that y'all are putting on event May 1 (as in, it's on the official SCCA calendar, which is doing better than any utah event in the 1.25 years that I've been rallycrossing...)

Spill the beans, guys! May have some UT folks coming up.

(any info on cheap [free is best :D] camping would be much appreciated as well)

Copied from elsewhere;

Quote:
May 1st at the Pleasant Valley Raceway,

Registration at 8:00 to 9:00, tech closes at 9:15

$25.00 for all Drivers, plus a $15.00 weekend membership fee for all non SCCA members.

Drivers meeting at 9:30, runs shortly after

The course is a smooth graded dirt surface, with only minor grade changes, the cones will be setup to keep you on course with the only real gates where we want you to slow up for the next series of cones. Course length is .85 to .90 miles long so run times should be in the 1 minute plus area. the course is set up for street cars with no modifications to be able to drive and should not be hard on the car.

You will need to bring plenty to drink and sun screen, a coat if the wind comes up and all that kind of stuff. lunch items are far from the site so bring your munchies as there will not be a long enough break to run to town to get some.

The number of runs will be determined by the turn out and actual run times, we should be able to easily run two cars at a time to speed things up.

Scoring will be all of your runs times added together and the slowest one removed. ( if we have 5 runs only 4 will count, 8 runs only 7 count)

Classes are fairly easy

Stock, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, four wheel drive

Prepared, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, four wheel drive

Modified, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, four wheel drive

Not sure on camping options around here, to be honest.
